Ok I have an extra period what should I take ? * my school doesn't allow study halls *

By the way I'm taking P.E. & Health online ( I don't know how that is possible but I'm doing it ! ) so what class should I take ?

Bbuuummmpppp help please we have schudeling tomorrow !

If you can take AP US History, do so. Our school does not allow freshmen to take APs, so I’m not sure if that’s possible for you. Don’t self-study anything more than Psych - even that one I’d be careful with. Self-studying is hard for even the most disciplined, and a bad score can kill your applications. You’ll likely need government in high school anyway. Beyond that, take every honors/AP you feel comfortable with and don’t think terribly hard about college until after this year. Set yourself up to succeed, but it’s too early to stress. Use this year to identify your strengths.

Thanks ! Any more comments?

As a former AP Psych-o, if you’re going to self-study it, I would only self-study that single AP class (aside from the studio art options). You really want to be able to focus on all of the terms and connections within the material. I self-studied for first semester and was extremely behind when I joined up with a second semester class. But then I studied my butt off (4+ hours a day, 4+ days a week) for the rest of the year and got a 5. So either be willing to devote a lot of time to it self-studying, or wait to take it as an actual class. In-class instruction was invaluable.

Ok thanks but my school doesnt offer ap psyc

Ah, okay. Well, do whatever you feel you can handle. You don’t want to overburden yourself and end up burning out - especially in your freshman year. AP Psych’s a fun course; I hope you enjoy it. Best of luck!

Thanks for the comments ! Any more ideas ?

Don’t self-study all three, you’re only entering freshman year (yes?). The amount of classes is high just with the six and PE. My advice- choose one AP because all 3 are based on memorization. I can only speak for Psych (didn’t do gov) but I thought that the test was very straightforward. By the way I have never self-studied …well I technically did with psych due to the teacher. You’ll have the best success on psych - just needs some memorization and the facts are practically handed to you. But hey, whichever class is more important to you take. All 3 is too much, truly spreading yourself too thin. Take 1 this year then you can add some more when you are older and more experienced.

Chemistry or Physics. For most schools, it is difficult to take both of those as AP unless you take more than one science per year.

Push yourself in Math. You want to be on track to take Calc BC by your Senior Year (which is when you should take AP Physics).

So, take chem this year, ap chem next year, physics the year after, and then AP physics as a senior.

You’re an incoming freshmen? In highschool? Calm down for a little haha.
