I am thinking of taking more ap tests outside of my classes this year. In my previous 2 years, I had full course loads, but now as a senior, I only took 4 classes (although they are all ap) this year to focus on apps. To compensate for this low amount of classes, I was thinking of signing up for more ap tests (ex. I am in Physics C: mech so I would sign up for Physics C: Electricity and Magnetism). Will this hopefully help with college admissions and make it seem like I am not lazy or on a downward trend? Or will colleges not look at future tests I will take Senior year? Also, is this feasible or is taking ap tests outside of classes not recommended? Thanks!
You can certainly take additional AP tests, but don’t do it for college admissions purposes; it won’t help. The rigor of your courseload is more important.
FWIW , E&M is very difficult to do on your own IMO
Even previously taking self-study exams does very little, if anything, for admissions. Saying that you will take self-study exams in the future, after admissions decisions are complete, will have zero impact.
Take them if you’re interested in the subject and want to learn the material, or believe that credit/placement for college will be of value.
