Taking Physics over the Summer? Mcat worries?

I don't know if I should take physics over the summer at Rice University. My primary concern is that by taking Physics over the summer, I may harm my chances of doing well on the Mcats (because summer classes tend to rush through material.) My freshman year, I doubled up in the sciences (Chem and Bio) and it has been tough. I am doing fine in my classes but the intro sciences classes at Emory require so much work. I have very little free time because the two science classes just take up so much of my time. I want to take the Mcats the summer after my sophomore year. Next year as a sophomore, I DO NOT want to double up in the intro science classes, so I plan on taking just OChem during the school year and taking Physics through summer school. How badly will it hurt me on the Mcats, if I take Physics over the summer?

Depends on your ability in Physics. To me (and others I’ve talked w about it), Physics is sort of a “you got it or you don’t” type of subject. Doing it in a summer could be hell if you suck at Physics, math, logical reasoning, spatial reasoning, etc. (the underlying intelligences and skills that support learning of Physics material) but if you have those things, it’ll be a piece of cake – just plug 'n chug once you understand what is really going on in a problem.

I am not too worried about my grade in Physics, I liked physics a lot in high school, and I would have taken an ap course in it, but I couldn’t fit it into my schedule. I am just afraid I might get screwed on the MCATs.

Will I be less prepared for the mcats if I took physics over summer school?
