I'm a sophomore at my school. Last year, I fell in love with Biology after my honors course. I made the decision, along with many of my classmates and my teacher's recommendation, to take the SAT II in June. The Collegeboard website said that to do well, one should take a college prep course in Biology. As an ignorant and clueless freshman, I thought my prep would be minimal and I decided to prep two weeks beforehand. I got sick for 3 days before and during the exam. I canceled my scores and moved on. I promised never to do that again.

Now, I'm in Honors Chemistry with an opportunity to go into AP Chemistry next year. I was planning to take the Math II, US History, and Chemistry SAT's next year. However, only 10 people are admitted in each AP and I'm not exactly comfortable in my Chemistry class this year. I understand the material, but I don't "click with it" as well as I did with Biology. I'll get a 95% average at least, but sometimes that's not enough for AP entrance at my school. That said, I'm wondering if it'd be a good idea to prep now for an SAT Biology in June. It would put me at ease for the SAT II prep workload next year.

I still remember 90% of my prep from last year. I think I would have done well if I had prepped far enough in advance, not gotten sick around and during the exam, and if I had not been sick for the few crucial days of review before the Biology SAT. The worst part of it all is that AP Biology is not offered until senior year, at which point it will be too late for an SAT II.

Should I take Biology this year? Chemistry? Or take everything next year?

Or am I just way too concerned about the SAT II's?
