I was wondering whether you should sort of "impress" the admissions people by taking an SAT 2 in a foreign language that is NOT your foreign tongue, and that is NOT offered at your school. For example, say a non-native Mandarin speaker takes Mandarin and gets anywhere from a 500-650. Is it worth showing this SAT to colleges considering three big facts : 1. it's not your native language 2. it's not offered at your school, which probably means in all likelihood that you took classes off campus or studied for it independently 3. compared to your other SAT 2 scores, this is the worst one (let's say your others are all 700 and above) .... Or is showing a mediocre/not-so-good score not worth it at all, no matter what the subject is ? (Or is taking an sat 2 in a non-native language not even a big deal? Oh, and btw, I didn't really define what "a bad score" was, but if you answer this question, just consider what you personally consider a bad/not-worth-showing score. I don't mean to say that 500-650 is bad or anything. ) OOOOO, and the biggest thing I forgot to mention, when I speak of non-native, I don't mean the conventional "spanish, french, german", I mean the more difficult, rarely-offered languages that students don't usually study.
