<p>Does anyone know if the SSAT for grade 9 students applying for grade 10 is the same level as the SSAT that 8th graders applying for grade 9 take? My son took the SSAT last fall for entry to grade 9, but he decided to stay at his old school. I am assuming he will need to take the SSAT again for entry to 10th, but was just wondering if it is the same level of test.</p>
<p>Yes, it is. The curve changes though. So, if he were to get the same scaled score, his percentile would drop a bit since 9th graders tend to do better than 8th graders and test-takers are compared against others of the same grade and gender.</p>
