I'm a senior, and I have a last chance to retake the SAT in October.
However, I've already taken it 3 times.
My super score is 2210:
CR: 730
WR: 800
M: 680

If I'm applying as an econ major, will this math score hurt me? I'm wondering what would hurt my application more- a 4th try, or the math section. I haven't prepped all summer either.
I do have alot of extracurriculars, and did alright on SAT subject tests.
I'm considering applying to some ivies which will only consider M+CR (Cornell, Duke, Northwestern) and other schools such as UMich, UVA, etc.

What are your opinions?

Unless you’re totally confident you can boost your score by 100 pts., don’t take it again.

There have been some study/research that a student usually reach his/her potential after taking the test 2/3 times.

What is your single sitting score?
Has your score gone up each time you took the test?
How much studying have you done for the past 3 tests?

If your single sitting score is low, your score has gone up each time you took the test, you haven’t study too much for the past 3 tests, maybe you can consider taking it again. Otherwise, it is probably not worth while.

Would your score help or hurt you, it all depends on the colleges you are applying to. You can look up the stats of the colleges you are interested in. Also not all colleges super score, you should look that up too.

Have you taken the Math II subject test? A high score there can help.

I STRONGLY disagree with Busty. If you prep hard enough, your score WILL increase no matter what. IMO, take it again and really prep hard this time.
