I took the SAT four times in high school. I was a "troubled teen," however, and didn't do nearly as well as I could have.

I've been out of school for two years, during which I've studied math and read a lot. I know taking the SAT a fifth time seems excessive, but I'm confident that I could improve my score significantly.

retake it but also consider taking the ACT. You only have to send in your best score with it, but all of your scores are sent when you submit the SAT.

Retake it if you've done a number of practice tests and know you can significantly improve your score.
It would not be ethical to try to hide your previous scores as racnna suggests, even if it were possible.
