Taking the SAT too many times = Bad??

I am in a bit of a predicament.

I have taken the SAT four times so far (and one subject SAT). But the thing is, I took two of those SAT's my sophomore year because I was applying for another high school and then I took the other SAT's my junior/senior year to apply for colleges.

Well I got into college (UNC-Chapel Hill) but my writing SAT score was but a point away placing me into English 102.

So now I have to take English 101 and 102.

I am considering signing up for the SAT this June to take the SAT again to try to raise my score so I can be exempt from 101 (I don't mind taking it again) but I'm just afraid that it looks bad.

My scores have been really consistent, which isn't too great, and I just don't think it looks good to take the SAT five times...(even though two of those were my sophomore year for that school).

Does anyone think that I will be under any other situation in which I have to submit my SAT scores to anyone/anywhere??

Thanks.

I can see this two ways--neither any more preferable in any way I can foresee:

Accept that a point away means taking 101 and take it. OR

Take the SAT again. If anyone ever asks, or you ever apply for anything where your SAT scores are viewed. Make a statement about how proactive you felt in finding a way to overcome a 1 point deficit to be able to take 102 instead of 101, thus making room to learn about blank in a blank class.

Why did you switch high schools in your sophomore year?
Also, don't those two SATs you took in sophomore year count anyway? (even though you didn't sent those to colleges?)
You can't choose which SATs to send to which person/place... all your past SAT scores go to the college you send one of your SATs too, isn't that right?

As for taking the SAT again, I think you should go for it now... considering you've taken it 4 times already. If it'll save you a year (which I'm thinking is English 101)... do it. Plus there's always the possibility you'd come up with a great difference from your past SATs... (I can't really say unless you want to share your scores).

But yea, whatever you decide to do, good luck!

Just do it! You have a good reason to try taking it again, if anyone asks, you can explain why :)

Hah, thanks you guys. I think I'm leaning towards taking it now..

I'm just not sure if I'm ever going to be in a situation where anyone has to see my scores again.

Is there such a situation? I mean after you get into college aren't scores usually history?

^ OH... I see what you mean now.
Yea, TAKE IT. Definitely take it then. You're already in college.

You are already accepted; don't worry about! Take it again to get out of English 101! It shouldn't be that hard, honestly. I assume if you can't place into English 102 at Carolina you got a 630 on it. You can easily bring it up to 640 (the minimum score for English 102 at Carolina). Heck, while you are at it, try to bring it up to 690, then you are exempt from any English classes! ;)

First off, congrats on UNC Chapel. Thats really good. Next off, go ahead and take it again. They also know that you are on the verge, and admissions understands your reasoning. I would definitely take it. Do you have any AP credits?

So are you guys sure that taking it again isn't a terrible idea though??

I was just about to register for it until I felt completely ridiculous for this being my FIFTH time taking it (even though two of those four times were for college purposes and the others were during my sophomore year).

AHHH, I'm toooo indecisive!

Does anyone know anyyy condition in which I would have to submit my SAT scores to anyone/anywhere after accepted to college??

I don't see what the big deal is if you are already accepted. I don't know of anything that requires SATs after college, but I'm not really a good person to ask sorry =x. Best of luck.
