I'm going to the 12th grade and I wanted to know what was it like taking the SAT and what's the difference between the SAT and ACT??

SAT is for people who are intelligent
ACT is for people who want to emulate intelligence

Personally, I felt the ACT was more content based and the SAT was more logic based.

An aptitude test measures your capacity to learn certain things or tasks. So as dreamchaser said the SAT is more logic based and is a better predictor of college readiness than the ACT in my opinion.

Also, the ACT has a science section, and the SAT does not.

Here is a breakdown of the main differences between the SAT and the ACT. Colleges that accept the SAT will also accept the ACT, and vice versa.
These differences may or may not be important to you. I think the tests are pretty similar overall, and my scores on both tests were comparable even though I never really studied for the SAT specifically. I also don’t think there’s anything especially logical about the SAT compared to the ACT, but I would recommend taking practice tests for both exams to see which one you’d do better on. Keep in mind that the “science” section on the ACT is really called the Science Reasoning section. It doesn’t test your knowledge of science facts.
Make sure you take one or the other as soon as possible, though. You don’t have much time if you’re a senior and haven’t taken a standardized test yet.

Thanks for breaking it down for me.

SAT - Stupid @$$ Test
ACT - A Crappy Test

It doesn’t matter which one you decide to take, yet. You can even take both if you think it’s necessary. But as of now, colleges look at a 36 on the ACT in the same way as they’d look at a 2390/2400.

Colleges do not care which one you take, but some people do better on one than the other. If you can, take both to see if this is true for you.
