TAMS Interview and Math test

I want to apply to the Texas Academy of Math and Science.
I researched the site extensively and wanted to know the types of questions they ask you at the interview as well as how hard the Math Tests are. Do you need to know logarithms for it?

Thank you, and TAMSters, please respond!

Hey did u get the invitation for the interview too? I heard that the interview is chill as long as you don’t goof off. I guess the importance of the interview is that they want to know how interested you really are in joining TAMS rather than being pressured by parents. I don’t know much about the Math tests… Maybe I’ll see you on interview day!

Yes you need to know logs.

Hey guys!

Congrats on getting interviews! I’m currently a TAMS senior, so I can answer y’alls questions. The interview is a really casual thing. You’ll have two seniors or a senior and staff member interviewing you in a group format (5-6 people). The interview is really meant to get to know you and doesn’t really affect the decision that much (unless you tell them you don’t want to go to TAMS or something like that). The really important aspect would be the math tests. Practice, practice, practice! You can only miss a few, and if you are from Plano, they will expect you to do well! I remember some people saying you could only miss two before they rejected you, but I’m not sure how true that is…Anyways if y’all have any more questions about TAMS life, academics, whatever, just let me know! :D

Can someone that has been to a interview day explain to me more about the questions and how the math tests are? Plus it would be helpful if you can tell me how TAMS accepts people at the point of interview day and further? Thank you so much, any help is greatly appreciated!!
