I am a female sophomore who applied to tams and attended early decision interview day. I am a straight A student and scored a 1350 on the sat. Will the basis for whether or not I get to attend be the math tests I took on interview day? Also, I did better on the act (32), is there any way I could submit that between now and the decision date?
@adultsmall , which classes do you take? If you have straight As in advanced classes, you are very likely to get in! TAMS even says on their website that girls are encouraged to apply, probably because the interview was mostly guys. 1350 is probably a little lower than average but not bad by any means.
At the interview they also said everyone aces the math test. I think the test was meant to weed out those who don’t know algebra. If you got 1350 on the SAT I’m sure you do!
All the classes that I take are honors/ap with the exception of electives like band. This response was reassuring. Thank you!
@ilikenumbers Hi,
I am a freshman who is extremely interested in going to tams and currently attends Plano east sr hs. My only worry is that I won’t be accepted because i have consistently had mid to high b’s in english and social studies classes. I have all A’s in the rest, 1500+ on sat and great teacher recs. I also swim for school, out of school, am in band, and am doing science fair next year. We do not have ranks because I am in IB.
What do you guys think?
With your SAT scores I think you would have to go out of your way not to get in. I got a couple of Bs in HS and was worried but was at least invited to the interview. The hardest part of this is waiting for a reply.
