I have been accepted at Texas A&M Engineering at Blinn and CAP at UT Austin where I had applied at PLAN II Liberal Arts. (I know it was very tough to get accepted at Plan II but i had applied anyway) I am still confused what these acceptances mean? Would I ever be able to go get admitted to PLAN II at UT Austin or actual computer engineering at TAMU? Thanks
For TAMU, take a look at the ETAM threads. Computer engineering is one of the most competitive majors for secondary admission in ETAM; expect to need to get the 3.75 college GPA for automatic admission in order to get into that major.
Computer science or computer engineering is likely to be very difficult to get into at UT Austin if you are not admitted into the major.
Do you have admissions to other schools where you are reasonably assured of getting into the computer engineering or computer science major?
Thank you so much for your reply.
Here are my all acceptances.
- Arizona State university for Cyber Security.
- UT Austin CAP (means need to go other local colleges for first year and get good grades and then transfer to UT Austin.
- TAMU Engineering at BLINN
- Perdue for liberal arts
5 SMU Computer Science
6 UT Dallas for computer engineering
7 UT Arlington computer engineering
8 Texas Tech computer engineering
9 Uni of Arizona Engineering
10 UT San Antonio cyber security - Austin College Computer science
12 Texas State Uni Engineering

Stevens computer science
Georgia tech
New york Uni.
If you value a major in computer engineering or computer science, choose a college where you are in the major or have reasonable assurance of declaring the major. Getting into these majors at TAMU or UT Austin (if not directly admitted to the major) or Purdue (if not directly admitted to the major) is quite difficult.
@CCagain What did you choose?
