TAMU vs UH Need Some Opinions

Hey guys I am coming close to 60 credit hours at Lone Star so I need to decide which college in the Houston area that I am going to attend. My major is Computer Science and currently have a GPA of 3.92. I’m having a really hard time deciding on which college I should attend.

Last week I was looking at the admission requirements for each school and TAMU requires more classes whereas UH does not require as much. I know that the A&M CS program is rated much higher than UH but does ranking really matter or is it more about the individual? The only reserve I have about attending A&M is that I am not conservative or religious like most of the people that attend there. A&M is a about an hour and 20 mins from me and UH is only 45 mins away without traffic but knowing how Houston is that could easy change to over an hour with traffic.

My plans after graduation are to move back to California and start a career there. If you guys were in my position which college would you choose and why? Any insight will be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Do you have to stay in Houston? Commuting to Galveston could be a big headache.

Ya I do have to stay in Houston. I actually live in The Woodlands and if I went to A&M it would be to the College Station location since the Galveston location doesn’t offer CS.

“The only reserve I have about attending A&M is that I am not conservative or religious like most of the people that attend there.” I have recent A&M grads in my family who are progressive politically. I wouldn’t over worry about this. Best wishes!
