Hey guys, I have admits from computer engineering from Texas A&M college station, Ohio State and University of Maryland college park and penn state univ park. Please provide me some advice and suggestions for decision making.( for undergraduation)
TAMU if its in your budget
Does one get good intern opportunities at TAMU, and I have also seen some articles stating that tamu is a conservative college, being an international student, should I worry But that factor?
Anyone?
@Zepodes TAMU is known to be a conservative school, but with such a huge student body, there are people of all backgrounds and political views. Also, TAMU has a huge international student body. Especially from India. So ou should’nt have trouble in that sense as well.
@Zepodes As far as internships go, the Aggie network amazing and is well represented, especially in Texas. You should be able to find good opportunities. I do not know how internships work for international student though, so maybe you can call the admissions office and ask?
@veda101 Oh that’s really great to hear,thanks a lot for the inputs!!
One doubt, is there any chance for international student to get an in state tution in sophomore or junior year?
Can you list net cost at each?
Did you get into the honors college at any of those?
@MYOS1634 my updated thread: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/college-search-selection/1972335-tamu-cs-honors-vs-penn-state-schreyer-honors-college.html#latest
@Zepodes Im pretty sure you have to have own property and make that your primary residence in order to get in-stae. Im not completely sure. You can contact them and ask. Also, its possible to get instate tuition if you get atleast $4000 worth of scholorships from the school.
@veda101 oh,got it. And do sophomore or junior students get merit scholarships based on their performance[Cgpa] in freshmen year.
@Zepodes honestly no idea. But you cant go wrong with tamu. I dont know how well known it is in India, but its one of the top engineering colleges in America. Im probably going there next year as well for computer science.
@veda101 that’s really great news, hope I get there, my final two choices are TAMU with CS honors and Penn state UP with Schreyer Honors.
Hope I join there and meet u at TAMU
