Penn State vs Texas A&M

Hi All
I am an international undergrad student studying aerospace engineering but looking to transfer in petroleum engineering major. I am deciding on penn state and texas a&m.
Can I have some ideas which school will be better on basis of financial aid and job scenario after graduation?
I would really appreciate the help.
Any advice or suggestions are highly welcomed.
Thanks

I think Texas A&M would be better for engineering as it is ranked higher and cheaper (imo). My cousin goes there and he loves the environment.

PSU OOS is pricy. TAMU OOS doesn’t look far behind. Didn’t see that you were international – don’t count on aid from state schools. PSU doesn’t really do merit and the merit at TAMU seems to be competitive, not automatic, meaning you could be stuck paying the full $43k.

Penn State is so expensive. Texas A&M is a good school.

They’re both going to be expensive for an int’l. Neither will give you any aid. You’d be “full pay” at both schools.

What are your parents saying about how much they’ll pay?

Both would be roughly the same cost-wise - can your parents afford about 45K a year?
The biggest difference would be regarding where you hope to find internships. TAMU has reach in the South, Penn State on the East Coast.
Finally, while switching from Aerospace Engineering as an international is a good idea, I’m not sure Petroleum Engineering is a better major for you, due to the downturn. Biotech, Civil, Mechanical, Software would all be better Engineering choices in my opinion.
