TAP Juggling Act

Alright so my problem (latest problem, rotflmao) is that I signed up for TAP on Wednesday and I'm having some class scheduling conflicts. I can take 3 of the six classes I need this semester, I'm already signed up for one and the other I'm going to try to crash. Now the third conflicts with Chemistry which I need as both an IGETC and a Pre-req for Psychology. I could drop Spanish 100 (which I still need for the IGETC) and take it in the Winter and switch Chemistry for it maybe or I could drop Chem and take it in the Winter. The puzzle gets even worse when you consider that I have to retake Stats a 2nd time, I was going to retake it this Fall but it's being offered as an Honors course in the Spring so I want to take it then because I think it'll look a lot better (and cover the 4th of 6 honors classes).

So basically I'm trying to figure out how I'm gonna shuffle all this around, get it sorted out and still get accepted to UCLA. I'm more than a little worried that they're going to reject me for having incomplete pre-reqs even though I'll have them done by spring (with a nicely competitive GPA of 3.6~3.7 and well over 60 transferrable units). The primary problem seems to just be how the classes fell (and it'd really help if Honors classes were being offered in the Winter.. ohh they might or the might not, they won't know until the last minute which makes it kinda a crapshoot). Any help would be appreciated.

do online classes through other CCs.

Yeah, I talked to them today I’m gonna just drop Spanish, do a specialized Academic Renewal if I can through SBCC (that’ll kill the bad Spanish grade and my need to retake it), I’m gonna crash Chemistry for T/Th days so I can take the honors English class M/W, only problem now is that it’s not letting me register for the honors english class in spite of the fact that 9 spaces are still available AND I’m TAP certified. I’m p’ed off cause I only have 6 meaningful units now (technically 3, one’s a Philo class I decided to take just today) and I have to sign up for some B.S. classes until I can crash the others just to keep 12 units and not get my perfect $5500 Pell grant cut. Urrrgh it’s SOOO ANNOYING!!!

Hey!

How do you sign up for TAP? That made me laugh! You sign up to be in the Honors Program and then you take classes to be TAP certified, but yeah…sorry, haha. Oh and you’re not TAP certified until you finish your Honors program, but I’m sure you knew that too! Remember to fill out that contract with your Honors Coordinator early next year!

Good luck to you and hope everything works out!

I’m actually signed up for Honors and taking the classes this time around cause I’m applying to UCLA in the Fall, but thank you for the good luck ^^ I shall do my best! I’m having a bit of fun with the courses because I have all but 1 or 2 IGETC classes done and I’m taking Honors Stats in the spring (to make up for getting an F then a D in it, I felt it was appropriate to take it a 3rd time as Honors and get an A in it, in your face me of 1 and 2 years ago!)
