I can’t wait to meet you guys
=0)

Hey guys! :D

Did u get a reply or something after u replied to the confirmation of attendance? Hahah, it was after I found out on Monday that I got in when I started searching for a TASS forum and found this! Yay~

Oh, and has anyone gotten an email from their tutors yet? Still waitin for mine.

@asia ur so right! I’m super excited for TASS, althoooo…

@wherewolves high five I’m at Indiana too! :D

I was accepted too to Indiana University!!!
I thought i wasn’t going to get in because the interview sucked but…

I GOT IN!!
I can’t wait ^_^

I have a question… do all TASSERS apply to TASP? How tough is it to gain entrance into TASS? From what I understand getting into TASP is very difficult. Do TASSERS generally become TASPERS the next year?

Also, how do selective universities view TASSERS? My dtr attends an inner city magnet school, high honors, very motivated and has her sights set on Harvard. I hear from you guys here on CC that they look favorably on the Telluride organization… but not sure if this includes TASS also…

She is looking to apply to either program…is in class of 14’ and wants to study abroad next summer(2012) and also possibly do a marine life expedtion…

Should she also add TASS to her list of applications to fill out? or should she just WAIT until 2013 and apply to TASP? I get the feeling that students apply to one or the other…

Thank you!

I have no idea about the admissions process for TASS specifically, or about how colleges view it. Not all TASSers apply for TASP, it’s not something that’s required and the two programs are definitely different, though with similar focus and philosophy. At my TASP there were two TASSers, which seems to be within the typical range–so there are definitely some people who apply to and do both programs, and it’s not really an either/or choice. Anyway, there’s not really a “should” in this situation besides what your daughter wants to do with her summer. If she’s interested in both she should apply to both, if it’s just one she should apply to that one. There’s no reason not to try for both considering that she’d be working on the apps at different times.

Thank you! She will definitely be applying to TASP for 2013… Next year she is really interested in studying abroad and doing a marine biology/enviromental expedition. As long as time permits… so that is the main reason she won’t apply to TASS…

It is so tough b/c you never know if you will get in so you have to apply to several programs…

I’ve read somewhere in the old threads that 100% TASSers made it to the interview round of TASP. So, why not?

20 more days =D

16 days! :)

Its next saturday!!
Time flies

What??? I’m jealous with y’all Tass-ers. Next Sunday for us!

Hey! Do any of you have anything to tell me about what to expect this year! I just applied to TASS 2012 about a month ago, and Im getting so much anxiety about hearing back!
Thanks

ALSO!!! did you guys have your phones and computers!!!

Hey there, I’ll be glad to share some information.
Yes, we were allowed to bring our computers and phones. Of course they were the responsibility of the TASSer, I actually brought my phone, laptop and ipad and had no problems. As for describing what to expect, I will say expect the unexpected. You will gain new friendships, new experiences, and new perspectives.

whooo wants to tell me what to pack haha i leave in three days
