Because of some trouble filing tax return, I was a bit delayed in completing my tax return and CSS form. Would it be too late to turn these forms in the next couple of days and, more importantly, does this have a bearing on my chances?

Thanks guys,

I don't think it has an affect on your chances, but I don't know about the financial aid part. I also received 2008 tax returns this weekend, and I am afraid that the aid given will be limited...

I really hope not.

No effect on chances. FA and Admissions Office are separate.

No, absolutely not. You may not get your financial aid offer at the same time you get your admissions offer (although maybe you will -- turning everything in on time ensures that you'll get contemporaneous decisions, but turning in financial aid info late doesn't necessarily mean you'll get your offer late), but it won't affect the amount of aid you're awarded. (My dad turned in our financial aid stuff in July one year, and I still got the same aid package as the year before. :))

It's never too late to turn in your forms, as I said above. In addition, MIT is truly need-blind, so it doesn't matter if you need aid or not or whether you turn in your aid forms on time in terms of your chances of admission.
