I’ve read a past thread comparing these 2 schools, but it was from 2006 and I’m still rather conflicted.
I applied to and was accepted to both of these schools. TCNJ is giving me $5000 a year, Rutgers is giving me nothing.
I’m interested in both of these schools, but am unsure of which to attend. I’m going to be a major in Biology and planning to attend med school afterwards. I looked into Rutgers programs to see if there was anything that could help me and I found ODASIS, somewhat similar to Montclair’s Health Careers Program for “underrepresented minorities in medicine.”
Is there any such program at TCNJ? I found the Medical Careers Advisory Committee, but is that better than ODASIS?
I also understand that they are 2 very different schools, with different atmospheres and class sizes. How do TCNJ’s research opportunities stack up against Rutgers’s?
every list i reviewed has TCNJ as the top flagship public in the state and it continues each year to creep up in the rankings more and more. Now that “campus Town” is opening and the new STEM building being constructed , the
future looks extremly bright for TCNJ. They are doing something right over there.
I’m a Rutgers alum & would definitely recommend it. It has a 7 or 8 yr MD option & has now 3 medical schools under its seal. Lots of diversity there. College of NJ is also a fine college that gotten good rankings over past few years.
