D is going to be interviewed by Dr. Shevlin for TCNJ/UMNJ.Pls help. What type of questions should she be prepared for? Any advice is appreciated.

is this the 1st interview or the 2nd?

1st interview

hm that's weird.. I had my 1st interview (phone) in early December with Dr. Shevlin (wife) and haven't heard anything back yet, but it looks like they're still doing 1st interviews?
Anyways, the interview is pretty casual and informative and covers the basics like why you want to be a doctor, why bs/md, etc. nothing out of the ordinary.

does TCNJ let you know if ur not going to get an interview?

I was wondering if the interview with TCNJ is more like a medical school interview or a college interview. Do they ask you bioethics questions and the like during it? Or do the save that for the interview with UMDNJ? Any help will be greatly appreciated. I have my first direct med interview tomm.

cirohpue: I haven't heard of any phone interviews for the program. Do you live very far away or something?

the interview w/tcnj is very casual and stress-free....remember why you want to be a doctor and be able to explain about all yer activities and you should be a-ok...

Thanks for the advice PipingHotTofu!

no problem

i got my TCNJ admittance packet today =) Then I had a 1st interview voice mail. How long is the 1st interview? Any help. Can you schedule to talk on the weekend?

any1 know the answer to the question i asked?

neha...i dun think they tell you if you didn't get one but don't hold me to that...

njstudent: yeah, i'm from arizona

highflyer: I don't think you can schedule to talk on the weekend. The secretary told me that all interviews would require missing school. I don't know how long the interview was, but my interview and tour of the science building put together was about an hour and a half.

neha89: They seem to be scheduling interviews at different times depending on when you send in your application. My interviewer told me that tcnj tries to keep you notified if you do not get into the program. However, I don't think they tell you that until they schedule all of the first interviews.

Neha89,

After my Son was interviewed by TCNJ in Jan, he rec'd an acceptance letter by mail to TCNJ. This relates only to their BS program. However, 2 weeks following TCNJ interview, he was asked to call UMDNJ for his 2nd interview.

UMDNJ interview was about 1 hour with UMDNJ faculty member followed by a half hour tour with UMDNJ students.

I think the interview was 1 on 1. I saw at least 5 kids at the tour though.

Hope that answers your questions.
