Why do you thinki you had to wait until second review? Is TCNJ the new Harvard? (only kidding).

I was accepted during the first round of decisions and received it in the mail. My Weighted GPA was a 4.29 and my ACT was a 31 Composite- 33 Math and 32 English. Best of luck to everyone!

How long after you received your notification in the mail was it also online?

1320 SAT, 3.57 GPA, Psychololgy major, good essay, good recs, ok ecs

I was just wondering when will it post on PAWS or do you actually have to wait for it in the mail.

Semper,
Are you still waiting and wondering what pile you’re in too? I wonder if all the second wave decisions go out at the same time or could we be the late ones? Why would some people only get theirs in the mail? It seems like admissions at TCNJ is having a good time while we stew.(probably not)

If you click ‘accept admission’ when you go on your tcnj account, if they made a decision it should show… You’re suppose to officially find out by mail (scholarships by mail too). I had been checking my account everyday so i found out my account & then the next day, i got the packet.

what is the highest merit scholarship that has been posted on CC? Is it $6500/yr?

Does pressing “accept admission” mean that you are choosing to matriculate?

No. At least not immediately. When you press that you are given the option to accept or decline. Of course you have to have received an offer of admissions first.

Well it’s Saturday and I’ve been up since 6AM checking the TCNJ website for any information about my application. I even tried to call admissions but, duh its Saturday.
If I didn’t want to go there so much I’d almost take a rejection(just trying to sound pathetic). Its a perfect storm of anxiety, since the school’s site lets me look through an advising report section(even though it says only admitted students can do it) and a search catalog section. Even those sections seem cool.
Every small window seems to emit a beacon of hope, like this morning’s mail. If I do get accepted I will need until September to rest up from this application process. Wish everyone a good weekend–OOPS The Mail is here!!

Hey everyone, I’m new here. I’m a transfer student looking to get into TCNJ from George Mason University and I just have a few questions. I got my information in late/on the deadline for the application so I am fairly confident i will be one of the last people to find out about their acceptance. I guess my first question is in reference to my odds of getting accepted. My first two semesters were shaky (at best) but the three semesters following show a dramatic improvement. Last semester, i pulled off a 3.69 and this brought me to a 3.31 cumulative gpa. I took my SAT’s in 07 but i remember getting 570 and a 590 in english and math, respectively. I guess what i am asking is if i have a good shot at getting in?
My second question deals with PAWS online. I may just be worrying too much, but when i select “Accept Admission” i receive a message saying:

This can be because you have not received an offer of admission or because you have already accepted/declined your offer of admission.

Was this a subtle way of saying that i didn’t get accepted? Any information would be helpful. Thanks in advance!

Your chances of getting in will most likely depend on what major you applied for. Overall your stats are decent (yes, they could be higher) but scores are not everything.

I think that’s just the standard message that appears before they’ve made a decision. My brother’s account has said that since before the first wave of decisions were sent out.

Good luck!
Good luck!

Thank you for the input, HazelEyez! I applied to the School of Business as a Business Administrations/Marketing major. I guess now its a matter of playing the waiting game. Thanks again for your help!

I have been Accepted School of Business International Business

Accepted, School of Business

Those of you that were offered scholarships- if you don’t mind my asking, what were your SAT scores like and were you in the top 10% of your class? I’m looking to apply to TCNJ next year.

& Congratulations to everyone!! (:

Who here is an accepted out of state applicant? Can you give me a reply and tell me what other schools your considering? I am deciding between TCNJ and Saint Joseph’s University right now.

jusrus929- my d was at TCNJ on 4/7 for accepted student day. While she did not apply to SJU, I thought it was a great fit for her and I have been there 4x, since my son also considered it. Her other schools were Scranton, Marist, SUNY Binghamton, UMD, Catholic U, Fairfield, Loyola MD, Providence. Each had something to offer and some draw back.
If you asked her 3 days ago to make a list, TCNJ would have been 7th. However, I think that she has changed her mind and TCNJ is now 1 or 2. Is thinking it over so no answer yet but did provide a new perspective.

Jusrus926: OOS applicant from Pennsylvania here! (I only live about half an hour from the college, ironically.) I’m committing to TCNJ but was also considering Drexel, Albright College, and La Salle. La Salle gave me the most merit aid because it was the lowest rank of my safety schools, but I decided not to attend because of the religious atmosphere. Drexel was my original first choice since I got accepted into the accelerated law program, but they don’t have a great law school and I would be graduating with $200,000 in loans. Albright gave me a lot of merit aid and need-based aid, but I liked the friendly atmosphere and opportunities for music and extracurriculars at TCNJ. I attended the accepted students’ day event and everyone was cheerful, helpful, and very low-stress despite the high academic quality. Each teacher I met with seemed tough and had high expectations, but they do not seem unreasonable or impossible to meet. The school is emphasizing their growing reputation and are recruiting out-of-state students, which may or may not work in your favor for housing all four years depending on your location. Financial help from TCNJ for out-of-state students isn’t that great - I maxed out my scholarship opportunities and will be taking out more loans than I really wanted to, but it isn’t a dangerously high amount so the trade-off is worth it to me. I hope that helped!
