I’m trying to choose between TCNJ and Gettysburg College. I like the distance from home for GC and their food allergy accommodations, but TCNJ is cheaper and I won’t have any debt if I go there, unlike GC.
Which school should I choose if I really want to focus on International Relations, Political Science, internships and study abroad? Which has the best/highest rated program in these? TCNJ I won’t have debt, but from reading online I am under the impression GC would give me a better return on investment as far as employment in the areas I’m interested in…
Thank you!
Two very different schools. Gettysburg is very preppy. TCNJ is still very much a commuter school although they are building more dorms and trying to lose that reputation. Gettysburg is located below the Mason Dixon line and an hour from anywhere. TCNJ is less that an hour from either NYC or Philadelphia. Gettysburg’s social scene is dominated by Greek life. Gettysburg is more known for its history department but the Eisenhower Institute in Washington DC might provide you with some opportunities. I would do my homework on both and try and speak with some seniors in your expected majors to see what their experiences have been. Best of luck to you!
I was at TCNJ on Friday and was amazed. Campus Town is opening in August and it looks great. Lots of things going on there.
