Teach For America 2013 Corps

My loan numbers are not there and never have been. The pressure is finally getting to me. I had a good phone interview, an excellent lesson, excellent group activity and then an okay interview. I think the interview did me in. I usually do well with interviews but the interviewer brought up something emotional for me and I got upset. I guess that showed weakness. :frowning: I just want this wait to be over.

Oh my gosh. I canā€™t stop refreshing the TF page hoping for something. I just reached out to my recruiter. Iā€™ll let you know!

I just looked at the thread from last year and most ppl saw numbers for TF update a couple minutes before their applicant center changed. Applicant center changed before the email. Now, thatā€™s not to say we should be refresh junkies tomorrow, but just a tidbit. Looks like the magic started happening at 5 pm cst.

This thread will definitely reach the 50 page mark lolā€¦

OMG they are looking at my TF now! They just put in my loan amounts and it says they are verifying! Maybe more of us will see change soon!

My amounts are all there, but it says ā€œN/Aā€ for all the documents in the Documents Verified column. Anyone else see N/Aā€™s?

Also, this is hilarious and I really needed a laugh today! [2 Hamsters 1 Wheel - YouTube](<a href=ā€œ- YouTubeā€>- YouTube)

Recruiter says she is unsure of a correlation because TF packages go under review at various times.

Argh. At least things are currently happening? No need to give up hope my fellow under reviews.

Also @OKTFA2013 - thank you. Very much needed.

My recruiter said that they get the news (acceptance/rejection) at the same time that we do.

Also, by numbers, I meant their actual grant and loan allowances.

(Dear 2014 applicants, we feel your pain. I hope we provide some entertainment as your scour our conversations though!) :)

LOL @crazygood31

I think College Confidential beat facebook this week. I truly has been an entertaining two weeks. I just downloaded outlook to my phone to keep an eye on my email all day long.

24 hours to go!!! Good luck everybody

My stomach is in knots!!! 24 hours everyoneā€¦I feel like this whole process has flown by. Nov 2nd applicantsā€¦Good luck! If youā€™re like the rest of us Iā€™m sure youā€™ll read this thread over and over again along with 2012.

Keep calm!

I received the same email. I specifically said I heard from previous and prospective corps members that under review means rejection. I want to write back asking why some have complete but alas, Iā€™ll just wait it out. Here was the response:

Thanks for reaching out to us. Your application will show ā€œunder reviewā€ until Notification Day. At that point your award will be available assuming you are admitted to the corps. Please let me know if you have any further questions.

Soooooooo did anyone imagine being a teacher would be this brutal especially for the pay they receive lolā€¦

Dallas/FTW which is the region I applied to, actually has salaries on the higher end of the scale but I imagine with all the supplies and the certification costs, the difference doesnā€™t seem great.

@luvya683 I know right?? Every time my phone vibrates or I hear the ding for a new email my heart starts racing!! I canā€™t imagine what tomorrow will be like!

@Tkass87 iā€™m specifically talking about the process itself. The process is too brutal for the type of job (teaching) and pay (30,000-50,000). This is almost as bad as applying to law or medical school where the stakes are much higher.
