@Taneashared32 at my interview I asked about placements and it being the last deadline. My interviewer assured me that we still had an equal chance of being placed in our top preferences. She told me she was last deadline applicant herself and she was placed in her number one region (Baltimore). The only difference in our placements is that a few regions were closed to us because of the timeline for certifications. She told me to be more open to what I would teach versus where I would teach. She was telling me to be open to teaching either math or science.
I think they really focus on trying to place applicants in their top preferences the best they can because if you’re happy where you are then you’re more likely to accept or stay. However your top two choices are really popular regions and because of that I would think you might be more likely placed in your third or fourth location.
Did anyone else receive an email from a recruiter yesterday?
@cambam13 that’s a relief to hear. I was wondering if The preferences mattered so late in the game.
I received an email from my recruiter as well. Seemed somewhat generic, but it gives me hope. Lol. TFA does a good job at checking in with you.
My top choice was Oahu. I’m not originally from Hawaii, but do have a lot of family out there and would love to be teaching at a school with kids that come from the same background. I noted special circumstances so we’ll see what happens.
@tfahopeful12345 The email I received was rather genetic as well. I just wondered if maybe this might have been another early indicator like the changes in TF or if everyone received the email from a recruiter.
I think we should all report back on Monday about whether we were accepted or not. I think the last deadline had probably the best survey in all the forums. It gave the most details about TF status updates and locations in comparison their preference list.
I’m so ready for Monday! Never thought I’d wish the weekend to hurry up and be over.
I haven’t seen any changes in my TF stuff I applied a few weeks ago and nothing yet. Is this a bad sign?
@cambam13 Thanks that makes me feel better. I am 100% willing to go to all my top 8 choices. I am so eager to find out on Monday.
I also received an email from my recruiter on yesterday! It appeared slightly generic, but only added to my anxiety. I’ll keep everyone posted. I’m hoping the changes in my TF are all good signs. Good luck everyone!
@dudeecollege I don’t think it is at all – my status on TF docs didn’t change until the day of (or very late in the evening the day before)
@cambam13 I definitely agree! I saw that survey and it was very thorough. I am going to copy and post it whether I get accepted or rejected. Just to give an idea for future applicants.
I believe this is the survey…

I know I have been accepted because they notified me April 15. They said I was accepted and if I would like to participate in a pilot study. (I wouldn’t lose anything)
The pilot study was pretty much them giving me 3 options to consider and I could choose 1 of the 3 and i would automatically be placed there or if i decided i didn’t like the options i could do the general way. So I did the pilot study, didn’t like the options and now I am waiting to hear about my placement tomorrow!
I will fill out the survey for sure.
@atlas2016 that’s really interesting. Meanwhile, the rest of us are waiting to see if we got in, period. So much anxiety.
I really don’t think I got it, though.
Also, my recruiter (or just TFA contact guy) initially had been in really frequent correspondence with me about everything, and right before my final interview told me to let me know how it went and that he was rooting for me, but after sending him an e-mail letting him know how it went, he never replied
@atlas2016 Congrats! I’m happy for you! Can’t wait until tomorrow. I’m anxious. [-O<
Hi all,
I interviewed in Jacksonville on 7th and my transitional funding has been updated. I am actually having a panic attack as I await tomorrow’s decision. Best of luck to you all and don’t forget to come back to complete the survey.
Congrats @atlas2016 !!! if you don’t mind me asking, what were the 3 options that they offered you?
transitional funding updated
Hi everyone. I should’ve just waited until tomorrow. I’m really bummed about my TF status. I interviewed in Jacksonville on 4/8 and I thought I did pretty ok. I applied for TF on 3/30 and uploaded my tax return as well as a screen shot of my loan accounts. No one ever contacted to say whether I needed to submit additional information. Now it still says “Under Review” and none of the documents has been verified. Should I be worried?? Help!!! No sleep tonight!! lol
@hopeful1987 Hey I interviewed on the 8th in Jax too! I wouldn’t be too worried about the TF. I read in past threads that some weren’t updated until the day of notification and even some cases they weren’t updated until after they were notified. Don’t lose hope! Think good thoughts!
What time do we find out tomorrow?
