I haven’t noticed any activity for the 2017 members and decided to go ahead and create a thread. It would be nice to speak with others who are going through the same process!
For those interested, I am a 1DL applicant and am gathering all my materials (transcripts & LORS) preparing for the next step in the application process–the interview. Any tips and/or advice from previous applicants would sincerely be appreciated.
Hello! I applied for the 1st deadline and I have my interview the second week of October. I’ve submitted all of the required documents. I’m undecided about the 5 minute teaching lesson!
I was also undecided about what subject I was going to do my 5 minute teach on. I think I’ve watched each of the TFA sample videos on YouTube at least 5 times to get ideas. 
Hi! I applied to the first deadline. I have my virtual interview next week and I am starting to get excited. I wish this board was more active so we could all share our experiences.

I have my interview today in my city! I have practiced my lesson plan over and over again. Hopefully I don’t mess up today! I’m currently on the train commuting to the city.

I had my interview today, and I enjoyed every minute. Nothing to feel nervous about, as my interviewers and my group made me feel super comfortable. I hope you all have had great experiences so far! I believe tomorrow is the last day of interviews, so good luck to those who are scheduled for tomorrow.

Hey guys! So I had my interview today and it went well. I did it virtually, which ended up working out well. Now we just wait! Looking forward to hearing everyone’s results/experiences. Have a wonderful weekend!
Has anyone noticed a change in their applicant center home screen? Before, there was a timeline at the top that illustrated all of the different steps (application, interview, region selection etc.) and now it’s gone! I’m wondering if this is a universal thing or if my site is being glitchy.

@Unconquerable I’m not sure what that could mean. It’s probably just a site error. I wouldn’t think too much into it, but hopefully others will reply soon!

I applied for the first deadline and am anxiously awaiting to hear if I got in on Friday!
The thing is–I went into my final interview super excited and confident, and then I had one guy who was trying to trip everyone up during their interview. In the end, he ate up a bunch of my time during my lesson and I didn’t get to finish. I think every other component of my application went well–do you guys know how important it is that we finish our lesson? Am I finished?

I applied for the first deadline and had my interview last week. I feel like it went fairly well, especially during the one on one interview. I’m hoping for the best though! So anxious to hear back on Friday.
Has anyone applied for transitional funding and have you seen a change in your status for that? I’ve seen in older TFA threads that it tends to be a sign of acceptance.

@scacec1217 I’m not sure how important it is that you finish the lesson, but I know that there were a couple of people in my group who didn’t. I would think that it’s more important how you handled the guy who was trying to trip you up.
@enigma23 I did apply for transitional funding, but I do not think it will be a sign of acceptance this year since the application process is different. Transitional funding isn’t due until 10/21, so I’m thinking they won’t look at it until they know who is accepted and what region they want to go to. Just my opinion, I could be wrong, and I will definitely keep checking to see if it changes.
