@jrd1993 YESSSS it happened to me as well! I’m glad I’m not alone
@jrd1993 @Unconquerable When did you interview and when did you notice the change? I think it’s good to have this information for future applicants.
I interviewed 10/14 and noticed the change late in the evening on 10/15 @EJ0822
I intereviewed on the 13th but didn’t notice the change until this morning. I’ve been following the thread and even checked when @Unconquerable first said something my timeline was still there.
How’d you do at your final interview, @Unconquerable?
I think I did well! I was the only person in my group to finish their lesson plan under 5 minutes and still have time to answer a question. I enjoyed the 1:1 portion and it seemed like my interviewer was having a good time with our convo as well. How’d you do @jrd1993 ? And everyone else!!
@Unconquerable I wonder if there’s anything to the timelines being missing. What do you think? Does the page look the same, just without the timeline up top?
I also interviewed 10/14. I had a wonderful time and it was a great experience. I’m sure I did well. I’m sure we all did well.
Hello all,
Just signed up to nervously await our fate on Friday with everyone. Some background information, I applied for the second deadline and I interviewed on Friday in the city I live in. Overall, I felt that the whole day went really well for me, but we never truly know until that notification comes through. Here’s to hoping we all make it through!
Okay sounds good!
Mine is still the same, so that worries me as well lol I still see the highlighted interview and then acceptance next to it. Wondering if maybe the change means they’re working on those who may be accepted.
Maybe they are reviewing or have made a descison @EJ0822 I’m really not sure. I think what is happening is that there is activity on TFAs end and they don’t realize whatever they are doing has an effect on what we see on our end.
I also don’t have a timeline. I interviewed on the 14th and I just noticed a change yesterday.
Do you guys know who makes these decisions? I asked my interviewer how much weight each component of the interview has and she said that she has no idea, that she doesn’t even make the decision, she just plugs in all the information and then sends it off somewhere into the cyber void. There was an article that I read on the TFA website that said that the interviewers make an admissions recommendation, but then who in the world is behind the screen making the final decision on whether or not to let us in? Is it someone who’s never met us before? Because that’s extremely disconcerting.
Also, where do you guys want to teach and what do you want to teach?
Well, I don’t know what it means but I now do not have a timeline. It has me intrigued as to whether it means anything at this point.
I’m wondering if it’s just a status change, I think someone mentioned this before, like if our applications are now “under review” or something.
I’m wondering if at this point they’re looking at everything that we’ve submitted in the application process or just the things that we did during the interview?
Hah, I hope that is the case and that our “time” isn’t up!
Oof yeah, I hope not!
I think they’re using a new Applicant Center on us, so I doubt that any of the past indicators that were true for other applicants will be true for us
I read somewhere in the 2016 thread that TFA uses an algorithm to determine which applicants are most likely to succeed within the TFA model and then humans briefly review the decisions of the system to check for errors.
Well geeze, I would hope that wouldn’t be for the in-person interviews. I understand the initial application, but after the final interviews it wouldn’t be too difficult for the regions we interviewed in to look over ten applications a day. That’s my hopeful thinking though…
Agreed! I would just wonder if that were the case, what would be the point of everything then? I doubt an algorithm could evaluate my lesson plan or essays or overall demeanor.
Here’s the post I was referring to:

I guess they use an algorithm to place us, not to evaluate us
Ah okay, I think they’re using an assignment consultant this cycle though
I got an email asking me to re-upload my transcript so they could see it better. Well I at least know they’re going through my application.
