I really want Central Valley California (I’m from the area), La, or Bay Area. The person interviewing me said I should mention wanting to stay in California because I want to stay and serve in my community when (or if, I guess), I do my preferences.
I’m curious to know where everyone is from that is applying and what their educational background or degree is in?
I’m from NOLA and I majored in psychology and sociology

Hey everyone! I’ll hop on that Anxiously Awaiting boat with all of you other round 3 applicants! I’ve also fallen into the constantly-refreshing-the-applicant-center trap. I saw posts from earlier rounds and thought I would somehow be immune from the temptation, but boy oh boy was I wrong!
So, to distract myself from that little trap, I’ve been starting to look into all of the different regions more and starting to really think about how I might rank things if I am lucky enough to be accepted. I know, I know, it’s early and possibly going to jinx things, but I just can’t wait until Monday and this research is probably going to be the only thing that gets me through this waiting period!
Anyways, I noticed on one of the earlier pages, some people mentioned looking at a comparison chart that listed which regions had certain subjects available/needed… Is this a thing? Does anyone have the link to that kind of chart/sheet? I’ve found comparison charts that go through certification things and cost things, but I’ve yet to see anything that mentions subject matter needs. Thanks in advance!!

when I type in your status I get

$(’#welcome-nav’).addClass(‘current’);
$(’#statusButton’).addClass(‘current’);
break;
case “Accept Our Offer”:

Honestly guys I think TFA would have figured out this glitch by now so I don’t think we are going to be able to learn anything from this.
heartofateacher, the only thing I see like that is when you pick a particular region, you can see a pie chart that lists the placement percentages. If you click a region, scroll down until you see “learn more”, then scroll down on the page until you see the pie chart.
@heartofateacher hey! if you go to the “where we work” tab on the main page, at the very bottom of that tab there’s a link that says compare regions. When you click on that it brings you to a page and at the top of that page is a link to the “regional comparison spreadsheet” it’s an Excel document that breaks each region down perfectly. I’ve been looking at it quite a bit to help me rank my regions
@heartofateacher when you get hired, if you get hired they’ll send you a spread sheet that has every region, and what subjects are most needed in that region.
Also, I’m from Chicago, I’m an education major. Totally surprised I got an interviews
@TFASR2018, @cookie2018 Thanks for the responses! Those two I had already found, but I appreciate the tips anyways!
@TFADream2018 Ah, yes! I think that’s the spreadsheet I saw someone talking about earlier (someone else who had already been accepted)! That’s a bummer if we really can’t see it beforehand, though. I know next week is going to be super busy for me, but it’s this week that I have all the time in the world to sit here twiddling my thumbs and anxiously refreshing. I was hoping to narrow down regions a bit before we even hear back, partially because I figure that’s as good a time waster as any, but then also because I’m already worried about not having enough time next week if I do get in (since it seems like we only have a couple of days and not even the weekend to turn in our preferences). Ah, well. Maybe it’s all for naught, anyways. /shrug. I really don’t know how to feel about the interview and my chances!
Did anyone else send a thank you note to either of their interviewers? Any response from them?
@Mmbeach4TFA I am originally from San Diego and I majored in Liberal Studies, which is the elementary teacher prep major at my university. I really want to work in the San Diego region as well if I get in!
I majored in Business administration and am from North Cal, but I went to school down in LA
@geek1234567 I sent an email to my interviewer but she didn’t reply…
Btw I made a coutdown to help get through this week here’s the link if anyone wants to countdown with me! We’re almost there!! https://www.timeanddate.com/countdown/generic?iso=20180129T17&p0=%3A&msg=TFA+Acceptance+Decision&font=cursive
I’m originally from DC but went to college and live in Knoxville, Tennessee now. I have a bachelors degree in Social Work and will have a masters in Social Work by May!
4 more days!! #:-S
Did anyone receive the “teach where you’re needed” email from admissions today? Wondering if it means anything.
I got an email from TFA about high needs areas and I nearly jumped out of my skin just seeing Teach For America in the title! They can’t do stuff like that to me during this stressful waiting period!! lol
I got that email as well! I was super excited for a second.
I’ve been refreshing my applicant center every hour or two to see if there’s any change but sadly there is none lol Luckily I work my second job all weekend to distract myself otherwise I think I’m going to go stir crazy waiting.
