Teacher Gift?

I had a group of 3 teachers (2 teachers and 1 GC actually) who wrote me about 5-8 recommendations each in the past few months and yesterday i found out that I got into my dream school

I come from a very close knit community and I know all of them well outside of school also so I don't think it would be out of line to get them a token gift to show my appreciation for all they have done for me.... does anyone have any good ideas of what I could get for them?

When my brother got into Yale last year, he gave all of his recommenders (including GC) $20 Best Buy gift cards. I think this was a good gift, especially due to the fact that it was near Christmas time.

Technically isn’t it a little iffy getting the teachers who got you into Yale gift cards? Because it’s kind of like placing a concrete monetary value on their recommendation, if you know what I mean.

A special book or a gift card to bookstore would be more seemly. I’m sure they all buy books in the service of their teaching.

It’s appropriate to give these teachers a gift regardless of whether or not you know them personally. And you’ve already been accepted, so it’s not a bribe or anything. I’d say a Barnes and Noble gift card and a thoughtful thank you card. $15-$20 is the right amount (one or two books worth). Anything more than that may be a bit gratuitous, but a gift card in the right amount is a nice way to say thank you. Baked goods work too!
