Teacher Rec. (COMMON APP EMERGENCY!)

Hello,

I haven't received much help from the folks at the Common Application. Here is my current situation:

I applied restrictive early action to a school, and I was denied. I had a teacher write me a letter of rec for that school (specifically geared towards the institution). It was a very strong letter that she told me she would make more general to fit other schools.

So, now I need to move on and apply to some other schools on my list. I would like to use the same letter of rec. from this teacher. However, when I add her recommendation to the common application, it simply shows that it is submitted.

I realize this is to make it easier for teachers, so they don't have to write numerous letters to different colleges. How do I/we essentially delete my teacher's invitation and add her back so that she can add her more general letter instead of the specific one she wrote earlier? Another option would be having her re-submit the letter...

Can anyone help me out??

You cannot.

If you want that teacher to submit a new rec you must re-invite the teacher using a different email address eg gmail and add maybe a middle initial to her name or only use her first and second initial and last name so she is basically a new teacher.

You invite her through the new email address, she submits through that address and you must make sure to select the new one name for your other schools.

Will the system flag the recommendation or anything like that? Or do I need to make sure the name and email are different than the original one?

The email must be different and name must be different.

I would use the teachers initials or use their first initial and middle name so J. Peter Smith or J.P. Smith instead of John Smith.

Then as far as I know, the system sees it as a new teacher.
