I know that a teacher can't change what he/she wrote after clicking submit for the Letter of Recommendation on the Common App, but does anyone know if once they click submit, it sends right to the place where you have them assigned? I haven't submitted any of my applications to the actual schools yet and removed the teacher as a recommender today after getting a lackluster rec. Please let me know ASAP! I haven't been able to get a clear answer from anyone.

I don’t think it gets sent until you submit your portion of the application.

Thank you for your response! That’s what I thought.
I also stumbled upon something on the Common App that I think I understand, but would love if you guys could clarify:
“You will only be able to remove a recommender if the form has not been submitted. Once your recommender submits the online form, the recommendation is locked with your application.”

I could still click the little trash can and have my teacher be removed today from a particular school. When I tried to invite another one, there was no trash can next to my completed teacher’s name, but one next to the one who hadn’t finished. Does this just mean that I can use her rec if she submitted it no matter what or does it mean that her rec will for sure go to any colleges I had her assigned for?

Basically, since she submitted it, will everyone get to see it? If so, was it sent where I had her assigned already?
