My teachers are submitting their recommendations via post. Where do I get the address that I have to put on the envelope? Just the university's regular address or is it stated somewhere?

You can find them on the school’s web site but an easier way is to go to Collegeboard.com and look up each school. Click on profile and it will show the school address as well as the admission’s office address. It is the admission office that you want. Good luck!

Can my teachers mail their recommendations to a college where I haven’t submitted my application yet on the common app?

anybody? also on the address should I write(as the addressee):
… University Admissions Office

or just: Admissions Office

or just the address with no addressee? Because I thought teachers weren’t supposed to know where I’m applying to.

How can a teacher write an effective letter of recommendation if he or she doesn’t know where you’re applying?

But to answer your question, you should look up the address of the admissions office on the school’s web site, put that address on the envelope, include enough postage on the envelope, and give the envelope plus the printed Common App Letter of Recommendation form to your teacher.

Your teachers can send in letter of recommendations prior to your Common App submission. The college will just hold them until your application comes in.
