<p>Go to “School Forms”. This is where you list school counselors and teachers. Once you add them by clicking “Invite Official”, the common app invites them to do their recommendations online. You just supply the teacher’s name and email address.</p>
<p>Once you’ve added the teachers or counselors to your common app, you go to each school you are applying, then click on “School Forms” for that school, and then “Add Recommendation.” If your teacher/professor does his recommendation online, you’ll be able to see when it is complete.</p>

<p>Your teachers/professors may have selected offline for their responses, so you will need to provide them with the teacher eval forms hardcopy. Also give them a stamped/addressed envelop for each school you plan to apply.</p>

<p>I don’t want to mix and match. I already filled out my main application and payment on common app. However, i emailed my professor the evaluation form to fill out. He already filled it out and mailed it to my address. I am still awaiting my official transcript to be sent to my address before mailing it to my desired school. Is this fine? basically, I sent my app and payment on common app website, and my teacher of rec + official transcript to the school by mail. <p>Here in the U.S. transcripts are sent directly by schools so they are official, students do not send them or they upload them on to the common app and colleges download them. Same with teacher recs or teachers mail their own recs with self addressed envelopes as Snowflake said. </p>
<p>Students are not supposed to be so involved in handling those documents.</p>
<p>To non common app schools, High schools make up an envelope with the transcripts and sometimes put in the teacher recs and mail them together. You could do it that way if they aren’t doing that for you.</p>
<p>Somehow, someone turned off your school forms section because it is usually pretty straightforward to “invite official” it emails them and they upload their rec directly into the common app so you don’t have to be involved.</p>
<p>You don’t have to have teacher/professors evals online, even if the rest of your application is online. I thought by having the transcript and teacher eval in hand, I could send both together & they could match easily with my common transfer app recorded online (fees + supplement +essay)</p>

<p>Actually, working with the common app makes the process easier. It is your school that seems to make it harder.</p>
<p>First, interms of your transcripts: If you are not an international (you didn’t answer that kawsneffect so I suspect you are) you aren’t to be involved with that part of the process and your school should know that. You need transcripts sent to each school so I guess your school’s policy it to charge for each one and you will have to pay that. </p>
<p>For the teacher rec letter you have, you have a choice to make copies and mail each one individually to each school or have your school include it and any other recs you are sending in the sealed envelope with your transcript. </p>
<p>At our HS, we made up the big envelopes with the addresses so there was one for each school. We gave them to the counselor and he put in the appropriate forms and mailed them.</p>
<p>Don’t forget you will still need an official mid year report sent with the same process so you need to find out how your school does it.</p>

<p>My school charges $7 per transcript copies. I had to fill out a form with the designated address i want the transcript sent to. In my case, i put my own address. They said i should receive a sealed envelope with my transcript in it sometime soon. </p>
<p>My only question here is if i should open the sealed envelope when it arrives, and make several copies on my own? OR should i discard it out (or keep it as reference), return back to my school, and request several copies (this time, put down each school address i want it sent to and pay separately.) </p>
<p>As for the teacher rec, i thought you said i am NOT allowed to mail them out to the schools myself, that i need a professor to do it. When you say “have my school include it”, do you mean turn in my teacher’s rec to the registration office, have them photocopy them, and have them mail it out along with the number of copies i request for each transfer school? if so, i guess that can work. <p>Just FYI, all the schools i am applying to are suny universities. I don’t know if just submitting one hard transcript copy and one of each recommendation letter to one address (suny’s main address) will suffice.</p>

<p>Hmm, I don’t know about the Sunys. I believe with the UCs and CSU in Calif it is one application and you just check off the boxes of all the others you want your app to go to.</p>
<p>Do not open the transcript and make copies yourself. You could see if the school will remail it if you want to save it otherwise, you now own your own copy. </p>
<p>You are not supposed to mail your own teacher recs but since you have it you could. You usually would have made up envelopes addressed and stamped for each school to give to your teacher because usually, students never see the written rec. It is supposed to be unbiased so the teachers would mail them themselves. In your case, you have it. No school will know whether you gave the teacher the envelope or whether you mailed it yourself.</p>
<p>However, if you still have more teacher recs to be sent then the choice would be given the new teacher envelopes or ask the teacher to give the rec to your counselor and ask your counselor to make copies and put it in with the transcript.</p>
<p>So back to how many transcripts the Suny’s want. It looks like just one if you apply through their app.

<p>So explore this above site and see if it is better to just do their app in order to just send one transcript, teacher rec and SAT scores. I have a feeling that the common app is better for student who are applying to both Suny’s and other schools so they only have one app. If you are only doing Suny’s then this may be a better way to go.</p>
<p>BTW, the midyear report is mid year, not end of the year. That is the final report but Suny’s may not care. Other common ap schools want a mid year report.</p>

<p>yes, i am still waiting for one more professor (calculus professor) for lor (letter of rec). He says he will be out of town for 2 weeks and won’t be able to fill out the evaluation form until he returns. School doesn’t start until 2 weeks, so he will likely give it to me when i see him around school.</p>
<p>Since i already have 1 professor’s letter of rec evaluation form in hand, i assume you meant hold it off, ask my other professor (calculus) for one, and give everything to my counselor to sort out, including transcript. However, I don’t really have a counselor. She assist every students in my liberal arts department but isn’t helpful or care for her students. </p>

<li><p>Since the transcript they mailed to you is still sealed you could ask your school if they would remail it to the Suny processing center without charging you another $7. If they won’t then you own an extra copy of your transcript for yourself. </p></li>
<li><p>You say you don’t have a counselor but the common ap requires a counselor rec as well so I don’t know how you were going to do that part. That is why I suggest you look into the Suny only application process. It might not require so much work. The UC and CSU applications in Calif do not require any essays. The Suny one may be the same. </p></li>
<li><p>If the Suny’s want a transcript, counselor rec and 2 teacher recs, then it may be simplier to have it all mailed together in one envelope. When are your deadlines? Do you have time to wait 2 weeks + for your Calc teacher to give you their rec?</p></li>
<li><p>I just quick looked at that Suny page and you will have supplements to fill out for each Suny you apply. They are probably the same ones you can view on the common app. Supplements may be super simple like tell us your major or more elaborate like why do you want to study x? You need to look at the all to see what you will need to do.</p></li>

<p>I actually went with suny only application process.I applied for 2 campuses, binghamton & stony brook (both ny schools). In the statuses, it says received. All i need is to request my transcript from my school and send it out along with my letter of rec. However, when i looked up both schools for transfer, it doesn’t seem they require a supplemental application. </p>

<p>Good, you have time. The common app requires those 2 essays for all schools. Then some schools have supplements in addition to those 2 essays. Usually the harder the school the harder the supplement. Ivy’s require a “Why X” type of essay. Syracuse’s supplement in the common app is 4 simplier questions. They are all different.</p>
<p>Since you are a transfer, you may not need the additional supplement. I would call the two schools to make sure. </p>
