Teacher Recommendations?

Hey, I'm a junior in high school, and I'm starting to think about which teachers I may end up getting letters of recommendations from my senior year for college and whatnot. I have one teacher that for a while I have assumed that I would get a letter from, but now I'm not so sure. I had him last year for Honors English 10, and I have him this year for AP Lang. He knows me well, and has consistently praised my writing ability. However, I'm very very shy, and he has a very boisterous personality, so I find it to be difficult to participate in his class, so I rarely do. He once, after school, pointed out my lack of self-confidence when asking about how to prepare over for AP Lang over the summer. I fear that his noticing of this and my lack of class participation may further harm a letter of recommendation. What do you think? Should I not ask this teacher for a letter? Thanks so much!

Well you still have an entire year to change his mind about you and it seems to me that you want this guy to write you a letter of recommendation.

Maybe if your shy in class during discussions and whatnot, after class/school you have a one-one talk with him relating what your learning/talking about in class to real life situations you’ve heard about/been in to bond with him.
