For some of the summer programs that I want to go, a teacher recommendation is needed

What's a good time frame to ask for the recommendations? How much time is good to give your teacher the time to write one up?

I just recieved my letter of recommendation today.I gave my teacher about a month to wright it.

Yeah teachers will appreciate it if you give it to them ahead of time.

i always ask my debate teacher the day before an application is due and she writes it right then and there.

um, for most teachers, i would say a week is sufficient.

The more time, the better... A month would be very considerate. I've made teachers write recs in a week because I didn't know about programs until then, haha. But they have all been very nice about it. A week is probably enough, but a month would be the best (less urgency --> less stress).

I'd ask ASAP. The more time-the better. And then you can send in your stuff and not have to worry about it. I went to Summer@Brown and asked for the letter in Feb. So like, soon lol.

Thank you to all!
