Teacher Recs

Is it fine to get one from a non-AP teacher? Tempted to get one from my 11th grade Honors English teacher.

It's either that teacher, or my APUSH teacher. I excelled in both classes, so grades aren't an issue. Just that I never really go to know my APUSH teacher, but I did with my English teacher (so she knows me better).

Word of mouth told me that getting recs from non-AP teachers/classes are a bad idea. Is it really?
(and already getting second rec from AP Calc teacher, so no worries there)

No. A bad idea would be getting a letter of recommendation from a teacher who doesn’t know you very well, or from a music teacher when the colleges want an academic rec. You want to pick the ones who will give a complete, positive, enthusiastic recommendation.

Why did you double post? I am answering it again here: yes, absolutely. I have no idea where you heard that, but whoever said that is grossly mistaken.
