teacher recs

do your teacher recs really have to be from junior/senior year? I have a few teachers from freshman/soph. year that really liked me and could write really good recs. Also, for SCEA, senior year teachers aren't very good because its been too short of a time period to really build up a good relationship with them. what about club sponsors/coaches for activities, sports, etc.?

lastly, can I just pick a teacher that I have had that I never really had a relationship with, but I had good grades in their class, worked hard, etc. and I could just give them my resume for them to write off of.

thoughts?

For the second part of your question, if you don't have enough teachers that you actually got to know, then it's okay to pick a teacher for a class that you did well in. But, you want the letter to say something meaningful - not just "John got an A in my class. He consistently worked hard." To give the teacher more to write about, you can make a little resume with your accomplishments, goals, and interests. You can also set up a meeting during lunch or after school to discuss this with the teacher so he/she can ask any questions.
