I was wondering if certain teacher recommendations look better depending on what class they teach. I mean do colleges or think more of it if that teacher teaches a more rigorous class, for example does a teacher recommendation look better from an AP US History teacher than say a drama teacher?

Your letters of recommendation should come from the teacher of an academic class (math, science, English, history, languages), unless it is a supplemental letter you are including to showcase a special talent (then a letter from a drama teacher, vocal coach, etc. is okay). Ideally, you should ask for letters from teachers that know you well and in whose class you did well. Also, depending on what you indicate you intend on studying in college, a letter from a teacher in a related subject is helpful (i.e. if you are applying to an engineering program, a letter from a math or physics teachers may be more meaningful than a letter from a history teacher).

What vango said. A glowing letter from a drama teacher is fine and all, but it doesn’t show much in the way of academic prowess.
