teacher vendetta, please help

I think you are overstressed about this. Certainly, Pomona admissions will see your A+ first semester and a lower grade second semester and wonder what happened. Your GC has already offerred to call/write to explain the discrepancy and you can write your own sincere explanation. It is very believable. Haven't we all had teachers like this?
My son missed an in-class discussion type assignment because of his jazz band's trip to a competition. His history teacher, even though he signed the permission slip for the trip, gave him an F for the "class participation" that day, which lowered his letter grade from an A to a B. You can bet we complained first to his GC and then to the asst. principal for curriculum. They persuaded the teacher to drop the F because the competition was school approved. They also knew this teacher was a jerk.
I know it's not a similiar situation, but my point is, the administration at your school is probably well aware of this teacher's tendency to victimize students. Put your concerns in writing to the administration, thank your GC for his/her offer to explain the situation to Pomona and stop worrying about your admission being rescinded.....unless you have other falling grades as well.

Well, hunter #9, I can see your teacher's point. You missed out on a valuable opportunity to practice your conversational Latin with native speakers. :)

naw, people in rome speak italian now.
