Teachers College Grad School

It seems that most of the posts here are geared towards undergrads. This assessment comes, of course, after just 10 minutes of perusing the site and joining.

I was wondering if anyone could give insight into TC Grad School, specifically its admissions process.

I'm also curious about interviewing. I was called in for an interview while someone else was accepted without having one. Any insight into the thinking that goes into the decision about who to interview and who to accept outright?

Forgive me if this topic has been exhausted already. Just point me in the direction of existent threads.

Thanks!

i really doubt anyone on this board can help you with this question

You might want to try the grad school forum here. Scroll on down- it's towards the bottom of the page.

I'm in graduate school at Columbia (GSAS, though).

In my department we interview everyone, but some departments don't interview anyone, and some departments interview borderline candidates. You may have been a candidate that they weren't completely sure about, and wanted to interview for more information regarding your intentions and your fit with TC and (if you are going into a Ph.D program) your fit with the department and research interests.

This has generally been what I've heard and learned about schools that interview only some candidates, and accept others without interviews.

Columbia University-Teacher's College is notorious for being a "diploma mill." Buyer beware!
