Hi,

One of the defining factors in choosing a school is the abundancy/quality of student opportunities in UCSD and San Diego in general. I'm not just talking about work study (though work study info would be nice). I mean real hands on jobs/internships for experience.

Prefer stuff in techy/business side, leaning toward computer science, engineering, and entrepreneurship.

What do y'all know about these?

There are tons of Jobs/internships for UCSD students, especially in the tech world! I think only good schools near sillicon valley have more connections to tech jobs; like Berkeley and Stanford. First off we have a school job website where tons of companies post positions. I personally got an internship at the San Diego Super Computer Center through it. Second we have major tech companies throughout the school year come and give presentations with free pizza and soda. Sometimes even raffles for turning in a resume. They will then interview you on campus for a position and potentially fly you in a for a second interview. Lastly, we have a really awesome job fair for engineers called DECAF.
