Does anyone know how easy it is to obtain internships or get recruited from UCSD with economics/management science/mathecon majors ? I would assume its high economics department ranking should look appealing to businesses out there, but does anyone happen to know the real facts behind this ? Any known businesses who do offer internships or recruit ? Statistics of successes of previous graduates ? It would be much appreciated !

Wondering this as well, thx in advance for any info

I'd like to know as well, if anyone out there has the info or first hand experience. I've seen some other threads talking about UCSD econ vs. UCI econ/acct and the rumored business major at UCI for 2007. Just do a search.

I also remember seeing a list of recruiters on UCSD's website for career fairs and some decent companies are on there. Sorry I don't have the direct link.

Where else are you guys considering going? LA?

I'm sure you can find an internship at UCSD. As for the statistics of previous graduates, success is directly proportional to hard work =].

i'm just gonna switch my major to econ and double major in something...

management science has way too much crap that i won't need in life

well i saw fidelity investment firm on the way back from san diego to la
5 freeway,, i'm sure they would be coming for some internship to san diego, i also saw chapman and cal state fullerton on the way so i'm guessing fidelity will send recruitment people to all three schools?
