technical question

I was just wondering what would I put down for student income if I have only gotten paid "under the table". I have had many jobs, but they were basically working for friend's parents, or family friends or they were jobs like tutoring or babysitting. I didn't always get cash, but "gifts". Like they bought me SAT books, paid for prep classes, bought me concert tickets, paid for dinners and other stuff like that. If I don't have a big student income, will colleges think that I was lying about my jobs?

Not sure, but I don't think you have to put anything down if its not significant... but double check because once again I'm not sure.

The new money received question on fafsa is a joke in my opinion. Students are NOT going to put down undocumented income like this. Unless you are going to put it down on your tax return, I say just leave it zero. But if you are required to put it on your tax return, then by all means, don't lie!! If they have your ss# then put it down! Don't mess with the irs. lol
