Ok...I'm looking for a new laptop and I'm seriously considerng Apple but I was wondering what type of "hook-ups" UCLA has for Apples. Like at the libraries, cafes, etc (or for example, UCSD has this network in which they can share music or video files) what does UCLA offer...and if I had an Apple, would I be at any sort of a disadvantage? Despite the whole Apple thing...what is the technological system like? Thanks for reading and any info would help!

Apple's with intel chips in them can now boot in windows.

theres no special "perks" just for apple students on the UCLA network if thats what you mean. it's completely personal preference whether you choose a mac or PC, and neither one will limit you in the resources available to you - both platforms are supported equally well. theres wireless and wired internet at various places around campus, and they dont discriminate if youre on a mac or PC.

but like the previous poster, apple just released Apple Boot Camp which will let you install Windows XP on an Intel Mac and let you choose which one you want to load when you turn on your computer. (note that you have to provide your own copy of windows to install)

Yeah, but I think think it's recommended for the average user. Considering that it's beta, new to the scene, and unsupported by Apple, it's going to be somewhat difficult, at least when problems arise.
