Teens?

Jamoca5, let’s see if I have this straight lol.

As of right now I plan on applying to:

Temple University
Montclair State University
University of Hartford
Pace University
Wagner College
Marymount Manhattan College
New York University
Plymouth State University
University of New Hampshire
Salem State University
UMass Amherst

Oooooh goodness, what a list!

Anyone else? :)

And I can’t believe I forgot!

Ithaca College
Syracuse University

I know it’s quite a hefty list. I plan on visiting at least a few of the schools soon and also look more deeply into their curriculums to knock a few schools out, but that’s what I’ve got so far. Ideally I’d like to have a max of 12 schools and a minimum of 8 or so.

I have a hefty list, too. Granted, I still need to finalize it, but here it is so far:

Boston Conservatory
Florida State
Ithaca College
Kent State
Marymount Manhattan
Milikin University
Pace University
Penn State
Point Park University
Roosevelt University
Shenandoah
Temple University
University of Cincinnati
University of the Arts

Jamoca, what are your safeties? That’s a very competitive list of schools so I’m hoping you have a non-audition that you like just in case? I’m not saying you won’t get in, but it’s always necessary.

I’m still looking for safeties, actually. lol I have NO idea where start.
Any suggestions?

Oh wait, I lie. I have one safety school so far-- Columbia College Chicago. But that’s all I have, unfortunately.

The only schools that can be considered safeties are non-audition programs where your student profile is a very strong match or exceeds the admissions profiles for the freshman class at the school. On the main MT page, there is a thread called “The Big List” or something like that. See post #2. It is a comprehensive list of most of the MT programs in the country, organized by state, and has a squiggly mark next to all the non-audition programs. It’s a good place to start looking for safeties.

Adding on to MichaelNKat’s post – It can be a good plan to make sure that your safety schools are also schools you know you can afford to attend AND that you would be happy to attend.
