My D was waitlisted for Cinema and Photography. She has 3 majors to choose from in Park. Is there anyone familiar with Television-Radio? My daughter really wants to be a photographer. We're hoping she could minor in Still Photography. We either have to just remain on the C&P waitlist or accept another major and switch if it becomes available.

My knowledge is limited and second hand, but here goes. Friend's S is a Park scholar there right now and I'm pretty sure he's doing tv/radio, but he has a concentration in script writing, so I'm not sure if that is available for that major. But the thing is, what he really is (in his mind) is a premed guy who likes to sing and act, and who wanted to go to Ithaca, but couldn't afford it.

So, what he did was get the Park $$ and major in whatever would allow him to go to Ithaca that he could afford the school (ie, not theater apparently, and not science). He takes his stuff like bio and ochem in summer school either at home or somewhere else (like last summer he went to Boston U. with a friend from hs who goes there), he takes theater classes as electives, and he's doing the script writing thing 'cause it's the closest to what he's actually interested in that he can do and still get the Park money.

This year he's taking advantage of some Ithaca study abroad options, and this coming summer he's going to do Ithaca in L.A. So, what I'm saying is if you've got the Park $$, find something they will let you do and work your interests around it creatively. The school is too good to pass up.

Thanks, mercymom. My D decided to remain on the waitling list for C&P.
