UCI has a business school but I don't know if it is undergrad or grad

I know that it's for grad, lovejoy

Thanks shyboy!

If anyone knows anything specific, inside info/experience w/ ucsb's accounting major in terms of entrance, difficulty, program, opportunities, please explain

I know they have one of the highest pass rate, but thats only from reading about it. If you want to do accounting then thats a good school, so is Berkeley, but I remember reading that UCSB has a higher passing rate on the CPA exam than Berkeley.

UC Merced also offers management for freshman entering 2005-2006

As for UCI, I heard you could MINOR in Business as an undergrad (and it has a grad. B-school)

Yes UCI and UCLA have accounting minors for those who major in econ allowing them to satisfy the requirment for the CPA exam.

if you are serious about accounting go to USC.... the leventhal school of accounting is the best undergrad or grad accounting school in CA and one of the best in the nation.

believe me, i have several friends in the program right now, all of which have jobs waiting for them @ PWC, EY, and Deloitte. the big 4 have essentially created a pipeline to USC and they recruit hard. i'm sure you've already heard of USC's networking, it is probably magnified 2x in accounting. i'm not even accounting major and i see these firms on campus all the time, social nights, meet the firm nights, reps, banquets, mentoring, etc.

but i warn you, the program is VERY competitive. i'm talking about a very business-like atmosphere. i've had friends that are simply brilliant in accounting, drop it because they hated the cutthroat environment. that is why i said if you are SERIOUS, then go to USC.

even if it doesn't work out, you can always fall back on Marshall which is an excellent business program.

if i were an accounting major i'd pick USC, then Berkeley... if i didn't get into either, i would rather go out of state than go to a lower UC.

afterhours USC maybe the best in California for accounting but that doesn't mean much considuring the fact that a few schools in California have higher pass rates on the CPA exam than USC including UCSB.
