Tell me if you think it makes a difference?

I just applied to UCLA, but here's the deal: I was at my Cal community college and transferred over to a CSU. I didn't like it there so I dropped all but one class for the quarter and then decided to go back to my community college and try to transfer to UCLA. I heard the UCLA looks at fall grades, so will it look bad that I only took one class for the quarter at a Cal State? At least I got an A in the class, but it wasn't difficult. All the rest of my other units (except this one class) came from my community college and I'm taking a full load this semester too. My GPA is 4.0 so I was hoping they would look more at my track record instead of this "bump" in the road. Oh, and like an idiot, I didn't explain my situation in my essay. Oh, and will they still give me community college priority if I only went back for a semester? Hope all that made some sense.

Getting CCC priority is your main concern. Here's the requirements:

A qualified California community college student applying for admission to the University of California in advanced standing will be given priority
admission over all other similarly qualified applicants if: 1) he or she was enrolled at one or more California community colleges for at least two terms
(excluding summer sessions); 2) the last college he or she attended before admission to a UC campus was a California community college (excluding
summer sessions); and 3) he or she has completed at least 30 semester (45 quarter) UC-transferable units at one or more California community colleges.

I'm guessing the above shouldn't be a problem to achieve. Sounds like you'll have the GPA, and if you have the major pre-reqs you'll probably be golden.

You might have explained it somewhere on your application, but I wouldn't worry about it too much.
