If money isn't a concern, I'd go with Dartmouth College.

Dartmouth for sure

There is a big heated discussion about Dartmouth vs. W/L on the parents thread.

Dartmouth!! Not even close!

I'm going to disagree with the above posters and say W&L. Its rep isn't as huge as Dartmouth's, but it's still a good school, and you'll be saving a whole lot of money (just think, 42,000 x 4), which you can use for a great grad program.

i meant im gettin 42000 from dartmouth

WHOA! In that case there is no doubt you have to go with Dartmouth.

IMO, its silly that you're asking a board full of people who are in love with Dartmouth. What other answers did you expect to get? You should post this in another forum.

Who needs the South or the Midwest? With $42,000, Dartmouth is perfect (or would be to me).

Now wait, I live in the South.

But seriously, you named three schools with very different personalities!
W&L is a southern bastion, conservative...
Chicago- The place fun goes to die. (They are quirky intellectual)
Dartmouth- more conservative than the other Ivies... (not saying much) and a tight knit intelligent community (not always intellectual though)

OMG, no question. You got 42K from D and you haven't packed your bags? If you see no difference, at least consider that the D name will be with you your whole life and in the Boston-to-Washington corridor, that means A TON.

My bad, please ignore my financial-related comment. Receiving $42,000 gives even more incentive to attend Dartmouth College.

Wow. Go to Dartmouth; honestly, there's no comparison here. Great atmosphere, academics, and well-deserved reputation. Enjoy your almost-free ride to Dartmouth. :)

yeah, i thought you meant you would have to pay $42,000 at Dartmouth...

in that case, I'd say head North.
