Do you know for a very certain fact that you are going to private school (have you been accepted)?
For my son, it was best not to say anything until shortly before going for many reasons. You could change your mind, things might not work out, kids might tell you what they think (even though their opinions may be uninformed), kids could be jealous, kids might count you out of future plans. If your friend is very close and would be hurt that you are “breaking plans” that you may have made, maybe you could tell her that you are “thinking” of going to private school.
